Gender Affirming Therapy
Gender affirming therapy can focus on many different things. Here are some examples:
Exploring your gender or gender expression
Coping with gender dysphoria
Coming out to family and friends
Communicating and advocating for yourself with employment, education, healthcare, etc.
Processing, navigating, and unlearning internalized transphobia and homophobia
General mental health concerns (anxiety, depression, stress, adjustment)
Sometimes people seek out therapy because their insurance requires proof of at least 12 months of therapy before they will provide any coverage for gender affirming surgery. If this is the case, I am happy to help!
